Almyrída still has the air of a fishing village. Quiet even in the busy months, Almyrída has two sandy Blue Flag beaches, the smaller one to the west and a long curving beach to the east. Both have loungers and parasols for rent - the eastern side is particularly safe for young children.
The village is very well served with beachside tavernas which are popular with both locals and visitors. There is a minimarket and store, some very pleasant bars and gift shops.
For the more energetic a walk over the hill or around the beach to nearby Kalives (3 km) is possible. Other nearby villages include Gavalochori (4 km) and Plaka (1 km), however, most people seem to totally relax into the calm of this delightful Apokoronas village.
