We spent 8 glorious nights at the villa Aretousa 1 . All the amenities were top notch. The pool was great the villa super comfy and clean. We were met at the door by the owner who was so kind and gracious, and we were immediately overwhelmed by the views and the house! We had an amazing view from the bedrooms and ate most of our dinners on the patio which also afforded us an incredible view of the Mediterranean. The house was lovely and comfortable with a/c units in every bedroom. In addition to the amazing space, everyone we corresponded with was incredibly responsive and helpful. If we ever make it back to Chania, we are definitely coming back to this home!

Fint sted, hus og hage er supert. Bratt opp til huset fra stranda og ca 1 km å gå. Bil er ganske nødvendig. Veldig god oppfølging av air bnb og huseier. Hunder i nabolaget som bjeffer mye. Kan bli forstyrrende. Ellers ett veldig fint sted og super oppfølging av utleiere.

This home was nothing short of amazing. It was spacious and very clean. The outdoor space was also very lovely. The pool was clean and refreshing and there was a nice outdoor area for dining. The views from the balcony are breathtaking and the area is nice and quiet. Emmanuel and Yannis were great hosts. They were very responsive and accommodating. There was also a property manager who reached out daily to ensure that we had everything we needed and even left a nice bottle of wine as a gift. I would definitely recommend this place if you plan to travel to the Chania area.

Good location, nice pool and big garden with two grills, nice views, clean bathrooms and very kind owner Everything work out very well. Driving instructions were good and there was no problems with payment or other issues.

The villa location is quite good due a great proximity to the main street of Agia Marina with hundreds of shops and restaurants, a few really good local taverns and, of course, the famous and well managed sandy beaches. But - you will need a car to get up to the hill! By car you can also easily reach from there all famous "must-see" places around in the Chania region.
The villa itself is quite spacious, it is very well maintained and looks like on the pictures. It is very clean (service twice a week, including changing the bathroom and beach/pool towels). The kitchen is very well equipped with all you will need plus some basic supplies like salt, tea, sugar, oil, etc...(+ a welcome basket from thehotel.gr, very nice!) There are several places to sit and have a meal: by the pool, in the garden at the barbeque, on the balcony, on the veranda, and indoors as well. All the rooms are air-conditioned and have anti-mosquitos nets on the windows.
The garden and the pool are nice and really large, there is everything you need and it is a very private place - nobody can see you at all - and it is also kids friendly!
The Internet was a kind of a problem in the beginning but after reporting to the owners they have now installed a separate wi-fi access point in the villa, that made the connection fast and reliable on the ground floor.
I have to specifically mention the view from the garden and also from the huge and elegant balcony on the sea and mountains, which is magnificent and breathtaking! You will enjoy the lovely sunsets maybe with a glass of Champagne - very romantic! You may need to close all the windows during the night due to a traffic noise from the national road which is not so far and also barking dogs and crowing cocks around.

The kind-size bed in the master bedroom on the first floor is very squeaky when you turn or move and the mattress is very hard, so I had a pain in my back in the morning. I had to sleep in a separate small room most of the time, there - as well as in the other bedrooms - it was OK. Our experience with TheHotel.gr was very positive, they were very attentive and helpful. Mrs. Mary - thank you very much!!
We definitely plan to come over again next year!

good price/quality the walk on the hill for some people :-) you really need a car when you have for example older people in the company we had a very pleasant stay, owners are very nice people

Nice, mordern villa. Well maintained, swimmingpool ok. Nice spacious surroundings (garden, bbq), good for children.
Wifi connection poor (only one small antenna for two adjoining villa's).
Small negative point is the fact that there were many dogs in the area around the ville which were barking late every night and early in the morning..
But I can surely recommend this modern villa for an enjoyable stay.

We stayed in Villa Aretousa 1 last two weeks of July 2010. The house, the garden,the pool area and the view were very nice. The owners were very nice and helpful and kept the property spotless. We recommend to rent a car due to the steep hill leading up to the house.
We would not hesitate to rent this house again.
The service from www.thehotel.gr was very good.
